With a long career in healthcare administration and a lifelong commitment to McKinney, Ernest blends visionary leadership with a dedication to servant leadership and community well-being.

With 38 years of experience in healthcare administration, including 23 years at Medical City McKinney and 28 years with HCA Healthcare, Ernest has demonstrated exceptional leadership. He guided the hospital through transformative growth while championing health and wellness initiatives that extended far beyond its walls. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ernest led Medical City McKinney with resilience and compassion, ensuring the hospital continued to deliver critical care while prioritizing the safety of patients, staff, and the community. His leadership during this unprecedented time reinforced his reputation as a leader who rises to meet challenges head-on. His dedication has left a lasting legacy on both the hospital and the broader community.

Ernest’s leadership extends well beyond healthcare into several key areas critical to McKinney’s success. However, his dedication to healthcare has been a cornerstone of his service to the community, as he believes that a healthy city is the foundation of a thriving city.
He has served on important community boards, including the DFW Hospital Council and McKinney Education Foundation, and has held influential roles, such as Chairman of both the McKinney Economic Development Corporation and McKinney Chamber of Commerce. Currently, Ernest serves on the board of Family Health Services of Texas, where he advocates for the health needs of the region’s most underserved populations. These efforts have improved not only individual well-being but also the overall strength and resilience of McKinney’s workforce and families.
Through these experiences, Ernest has developed the knowledge and skills necessary to attract businesses, create jobs, and build a sustainable economic future for McKinney.
